One of the key characteristics of the partnership between Venice and the Ottoman Empire was the power of trade. This allowed the Venetians to get the proper things they needed such as grains, pepper, and an ash they use to make glass. Another characteristic that was extremely vital to their partnership was owning land that had a direct source to the water. This allowed for their trade to easily trade with anybody. Lastly, Ship building (which the Venetians were infamous for), was crucial seeing how their Venice is directly on the water. This allowed for the Venetians to wealthy from trading and the Ottoman to get wealthy from taxing all of their products.

The impact of their partnership was definitely felt across the globe. The Ottoman empire resorted to taking over land by defeating the king of Hungary and sieging Vienna. They also were able to conquer the asian trade by sea and by land. Other nations were on the outside looking in at what Venice and the Ottoman Empire were able to do and wanted to replicate. They set out looking for their own way to wealthy. The Portuguese set sailed south and to southeast down toward Africa in hopes of finding something similar. Spain sailed west hoping to reach the indies but not realizing that the indies were actually much farther away than they had anticipated.

Another partnership that is somewhat similar is the trade routes of the thirteen colonies. They relied on obtaining certain items such as Manufactured goods, textiles, teas, sugar, and spices. They provided certain things such as fish, lumber, tobacco, and an assortment of iron products(National Geographic Society). The thirteen colonies relied heavily on the trading with other nations or from their “home” country, Great Britain. When you begin to think about it, the thirteen colonies was basically a country that started from nothing and had to do a vast amount of work to a land which had not been occupied up to the standards of living back in Great Britain. All of the trading lead to them gaining confidence that they did not need Great Britain and they could do all of this on their own. Thus, which ended with the Revolutionary War.
