1. Develop an elevator pitch for your NAB business using the tips provided below. Use quotation marks for the elevator speech. Explain the rationale for its components.

Review the attached article (includes example) about the 3 steps to include in your elevator pitch.

Please consider the following as your prepare your speech:

• The tone of your speech should be upbeat and confident, but not arrogant
• Make sure you use positive and compelling words
• The speech should be short in duration (about 30 seconds)

Week 9 “video response” challenge: Making a video response will give you excellent practice for doing a “live” elevator speech someday! If you’d like, you may submit your elevator speech as a video and include it as your response. Please make sure that you post a viable video file or include a functional link to the video.

1. Attached is an Excel spreadsheet with data for Mattel and Hasbro from 2012 thru 2016. The 2017 column is blank. You need to fill in the financial data for both companies for 2017 including the calculation of the ratios. Then write at least three substantial paragraphs: in the first paragraph discuss Mattel’s performance since 2012. You are comparing Mattel’s performance over time (you are not comparing to Hasbro yet). For example, have sales at Mattel increased or decreased since 2012? by how much? Why do you think Mattel has had these results (this will require looking beyond the financials at articles etc.) In the second paragraph discuss Mattel’s performance as compared to Hasbro’s since 2012. (Again explain why one company may have outperformed the other.) In the last paragraph state which of the two companies you think is a better investment for the future and why. Incorporate the ratios into your writeup (for example you might say that net income has increased, and then cite Return on Sales or Return on Equity ratios) . If you have a conversation, consider beginning offering a strength to your teammate. Then ask, “What’s one thing you want to work on?” as suggested by Goldsmith (2002). Take notes so that you can summarize your peer feedback into the self assessment. Look for strengths and opportunities for growth.
